First off, they're technically smoothies since I make them in my fierce blender. I should give her a name. Maude comes to mind....

Today Maude created my smoothie from these ingredients:

Assorted greens: kale, dandelion, wild arugula, asian mix, cucumber, jalapeno
spirilina, chia seeds, sesame seeds, almond meal, flax seed meal, balsamic vinegar
coconut oil, hemp seed oil
banana
elixir of life:)*
usually juice, carrots, celery but I was out today....beet greens and carrot greens are good too

*Elixir of life: I make a big pot of "tea"...... six green tea bags, turmeric, sea salt, cinnamon sticks, crushed cardamom, cloves, peppercorns

My 88 year old friend told me:
"If I would have taken care of myself, I'd be dead by now" :)

Don't take it all too seriously.

Hello, dear friends!

It's been over a year since I've written.....wow!

It's not procrastination. It's incubation:)

So what's been going on in my hypno world? So many great and inspirational clients. I want to start writing their stories. When I think about where to begin, I freeze and distract. That whole feeling of voices and stories and how to protect privacy by changing small details but yet still personal enough to connect and inspire and am I going to lose readers if I write in one continuous run on sentence......whew. Freeze and distract. I ride my bike. I read a book. I dream up new careers that don't require writing. I invent errands to run.

Enough. The first story that would like to be told is about a woman who came in to release fears surrounding learning. Specifically, learning Spanish. She had come to that afore mentioned freeze and distract stage layered with a huge dose of panic. Her consequences would be having to take the test over. Usually when people come to me for school related issues, their brains are telling them (as was hers) that the world will end if they don't pass this class. I try not to laugh:)

Let me cut to the part of this story that I love. Much of her belief system came from both parents who would continually despair that they couldn't learn languages. Hence to, therefore....nor could she. In hypnosis, I guided her to see the thoughts that were blocking her ability to learn written on a blackboard then erase the blackboard. When she came back to a normal brain wave state and we talked about her experience, she said that she saw the beliefs written there and instead of erasing she saw the blackboard folding over and over itself. She said it was so insightful to see not only limiting beliefs related to language learning many others as well being released.

What I get excited about is when I say erase, instead her brain folds up an imaginary blackboard. I think her brain is playfully showing her a metaphor that she won't forget. Solid into flexible. Serious to playful. I love brains!

For instance this week's newsletter talks about:

1. Review your successes and be IMPRESSED with your accomplishments. For whatever quirk of human nature, we seem to focus on what's yet to be done. Give yourself stars, high fives, tropies. Every time you remember to breath and bring yourself to the present moment, imagine a crown or tiara on your head. Write down every little, tiny thing no matter what it is: "I left 3 bites of food on my plate" "I parked two spaces further from the door." Think about how silliness builds momentum. Take yourself not so seriously but keep leaving more bites on the plate.

Speaking of silliness, I suggested last week to an AP that just thinking about her mom's homemade biscuits was maybe enough. She'd already eaten thousands. Her thighs really didn't need to store more. She already knew what they tasted like, smelled like. Maybe it was enough just have the memory of her mom in the kitchen cooking with love. AP had a very doubtful look on her face. Maybe you have success just remembering a favorite food or occasion without participating in real time.

I highly recommend signing up for the newsletter at RealAge.com. Breath in that motivation.....
